Works to alter an old Cotton Mill used as a storage warehouse into a two-floor sales area. Works entailed a vast amount of temporary works to hold the old structure in place whilst taking out the ground floor front elevation which consisted of 500mm thick stone walls.
New footings were excavated and cast to take new internal structural columns and the new steel support structure to form the new openings to the ground floor facade. Stone walls rebuilt around the new steel frames. Internally a new Atrium was formed where removal of old cast iron columns and large section timber beams was necessary and new steel columns and beams introduced to form the new opening.
